Conflict Management
As an employee at our department, it is important to know how to appropriately handle conflicts with super-visors. We are committed to taking all conflicts and complaints seriously and handling them appropriately. Conflicts can arise in various forms, whether in interpersonal relationships, legal matters, or scientific issues. This information sheet aims to provide you with an overview of the potential points of contact for such situa-tions.
In general, you should first try to resolve the problem directly with your supervisor. Sit down for a discussion and express your concerns respectfully, constructively, and clearly.

Conflicts with the Supervisor:
If an interpersonal conflict cannot be resolved through a conversation or if you feel misunderstood or uncom-fortable discussing it with your supervisor, you are pleased contact the following persons in the order listed below:
- Exclusively for doctoral students: Other members of your doctoral committee or the program direc-tor of the PhD program
- Managing Director
- Department Director or the Deputy Director
- The HR Manager of the department
Scientific Integrity and Misconduct:
If there is suspicion of scientific misconduct, and if someone is behaving unethically or violating guidelines, you should report to the designated contact point. The procedure is published on the respective website.
