Astronomy and Astrophysics Minor (30 ECTS)

We offer a 30 ECTS Minor in Astronomy and Astrophysics (starting 2025). This Minor is designed for students in Physics and Mathematics who seek to deepen their knowledge in Astronomy and Astrophysics. The Minor provides a foundational education in astrophysics, as well as an introduction to astronomy through observations and data analysis of stars and galaxies. Students will learn to use telescopes and collect data from space. At the same time, they will deepen their understanding of astrophysics and develop skills for modeling astrophysical phenomena. The minor program consists of three mandatory lectures and one laboratory/practical course:

Course ECTS
Astro I (cosmology and large-scale structures) 8
Astro II (galaxies and the inter-stellar medium) 8
Astro III (stellar evolution and planet formation) 8
Astronomy Lab (observational astronomy) 6
