Most of our minors can also be chosen as minors at Master level.
The details for the new Specialized MSc in Computational Science can be found here.
The master program for astrophysics and cosmology belongs to the physics institute, while the students closely collaborate with faculty members at our institute. For the application process, please check with the physics institute and see details of the MSc in Physics with the focus on Astrophysics and Cosmology here.
The Fast-Track Master’s program in Physics targets outstanding students with an excellent Bachelor’s diploma seeking an academic career. Successful completion of the program results in a MSc degree in Physics. Students in the Fast-Track program can already work on their doctoral thesis and participate in courses of the Graduate School which will shorten the following doctoral studies by about one year.
The Fast-Track program in Physics at the University of Zurich is offered in four specialized fields, one of which is Astrophysics and Cosmology. The program consists of compulsory and optional modules. The compulsory modules include the Masters thesis and Masters examination. Optional modules can be chosen from all courses offered by the University and the ETH Zurich.
We caution that for the enrollment in the Fast Track Program it is necessary that an ICS professor has a PhD position available to offer the applicant as a landing spot after the first two semesters of the program. For this reason, the candidates are asked not to initiate the application process until a phd position is secured with a professor in our institute. Once a position is offered, the applicant can double check the eligibility directly with Prof. Ravit Helled (Deputy: Prof. Jaiyul Yoo).
Important:
The Fast-Track is a specialized Master's course. For admission the following conditions must be fulfilled:
