Frequently Asked Questions
Before Applying
What are the requirements for the program?
Students at UZH must have completed their Bachelor with either:
- A major in a natural science with a minor in either computational science or Informatics (computer science).
- A major in a computational field (computer science, computational linguistics, etc.) with a minor in a natural science or computational science.
Students that do not meet these requirements may be required to take additional courses ("Auflagen") in order to meet the requirements. These additional courses do not count towards the program. Students are not eligible if more than 60 ECTS (two semesters) of courses are needed to meet the requirements.
Students with a non-UZH degree must meet the same requirements as someone who has graduated with a Bachelor degree from UZH. Applicants will be assessed based on the closest matching UZH degree program, and if there are deficits then addtional courses will be assigned to remedy this. If more than 60 ECTS would be required then students are not eligible.
What are the Language requirements?
The Master program is taught in English. Students must demonstrate C1 level fluency in English. More details on the requirements as well as who is exempt can be found here.
