Edith Alice Müller Award 2026 for Floor van Donkelaar

We are happy to announce that Floor van Donkelaar, who completed her PhD at the Department of Astrophysics at the University of Zurich, has received the Edith Alice Müller Award 2026 from the Swiss Society for Astrophysics and Astronomy (SSAA). The award recognises outstanding PhD theses in astronomy and astrophysics.

Floor received the award for her PhD thesis, “Disc Galaxies and Their Components at High Redshift: Similarities and Contrasts with the Local Universe.”

Floor is now a Herchel Smith Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Astronomy and the Kavli Institute for Cosmology at the University of Cambridge, where she continues her research on galaxy formation and stellar systems in the early Universe.
