Department of Astrophysics Joins Bergfahrtfestival in Bergün

The Department of Astrophysics for the first time took part in the "Bergfahrtfestival" in Bergün which took place on 13 June 2026. Professors Stadel, Schneider and Moore set up 2 large telescopes for the public to look through. Roughly 100 people took the opportunity to gaze at the globular cluster M 13 in Hercules as well as the interacting spiral galaxy M 51 in Ursa Major. Although the planets set very early in the night, Jupiter and Venus were also briefly viewed.
